PSP5400E HAWKER HUNTER ROYAL NAVY

PSP5400E HAWKER HUNTER ROYAL NAVY

The Hawker Hunter first flew in 1951 and eventually 1,972 planes were produced, serving both in the Royal Air Force and the Air Forces of 19 other countries. Its great war capabilities as well as its easy flying conditions, have given its pilots the memory of being the most joyous plane to fly. Not surprisingly, some 20% of these Hawker Hunters are still being flown half a century since its inception. The Hunter flew at a maximum speed of 699 mph and even briefly held the world air speed record at 727.63mph. It was armed with four 30-mm cannons, four underwing pylons carrying 1,000 lbs. bombs inboard and 500 lbs. bombs outboard. This is a 1:120 scale model of an RAF F4 hunter converted to Royal Navy GA.11 spec. which served latterly with the Fleet Requirements and Air Direction Unit
