The combat-proven F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is the 21 st century's premier strike fighter with all the capability, flexibility and performance necessary to modernize the air/naval aviation forces of any country.
McDonnell Douglas F/A-18F Super Hornet
Designed by Northrop as a smaller, naval derivative of the USAF's YF-17 Air Combat Fighter prototype, the F/A-18 was first flown in November, 1978. The "Hornet" is a multi-mission, supersonic, twin engine, all-weather fighter and attack aircraft. It can operate from aircraft carriers or land bases and converts efficiently from fighter to strike mode. During Operation Desert Storm, the Hornet proved that a single aircraft on a single mission could serve as both a fighter and a bomber. The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron flies the F/A-18, which also comprises the aviation strike force for many foreign countries.
